I have a Kubota 7300 and want to know what my options are for adding a logsplitter. TSC has one that needs external hose connections. The only options that I currently have on my tractor are a mid mower and boxblade. My local deal is saying that I need to buy a $800 joystick to get external connections. What are my options?

buy a tow behind unit with its own power sourse and you will be happier in the long run. ....

Your dealer is mistaken, or you're not explaining things to him right. What you need is a "power beyond" plate, an adapter that gives you hydraulic flow & return from the tractor's pump & reservoir. It is a simple thing, I have had machine shops make them in the past for about $150. Usually the "joystick" (valve) is on the splitter, you won't need two. However, the flow from the machine, and the return MUST be ALWAYS connected, through valve, or just hose to hose.Good luck. ....

I have the TSC splitter on a JD 4300 with "power beyond". It works great for me. Wouldn't want another moter to deal with if I didn't have to. ....

Hi TedWould a PTO pump not give you much higher flow, faster acting splitter and not fool with / wear with the tractors pump. mario ....
